Terms of service

These terms explain your use of AlgoPath Computer Science and the conditions that apply when you obtain learning access or purchase an available service.

1. About us and these terms

AlgoPath Computer Science at csunderstood.co.uk is operated by Code&AI Limited, trading as AlgoPath Coding Academy. Code&AI Limited is registered in England and Wales, company number 14425345.

Registered office: Suite E Ground Floor, Profile West, 950 Great West Road, Brentford, United Kingdom, TW8 9ES.

For support, privacy requests, cancellations or complaints, email services@code-ai.co.uk or write to our registered office, addressed to AlgoPath support.

These terms apply to csunderstood.co.uk. The description, price and access period shown for your chosen offer also form part of that purchase. A separately agreed school contract governs the school’s commercial arrangement; learners and teachers must still follow the account and acceptable-use rules here.

Please read and keep a copy before purchasing. You can print or save this page using your browser. Contracts through the platform are made in English. Nothing in these terms limits rights that consumer law gives you.

2. Accounts, age and access

Provide accurate information, use only an account assigned to you and keep sign-in details private. Tell us promptly if you believe someone else has accessed your account. Do not share an individual subscription between learners or attempt to access another person’s work.

If you are under 18, involve a parent, guardian or your school in arranging access. Paid purchases must be made by someone aged 18 or over, or an authorised adult representative of a school or organisation. A school is responsible for authorising its users and keeping class permissions appropriate.

Access is limited to the courses, features and dates attached to your account or school licence. School places and licence dates follow the school’s agreement. Saved progress is not proof of a current entitlement, and access may end when the relevant subscription or licence expires.

3. Courses, books and availability

Course pages describe what is included, prerequisites and the access offered. Free samples, books, teaching classes and online subscriptions are separate unless the offer expressly combines them. A resource described as coming soon is not included as an available course merely because it appears in the catalogue.

Interactive features require a compatible browser and internet connection; individual tools may describe additional requirements. Use public samples to check suitability and contact support about accessibility or compatibility before purchasing if needed.

Tutor allowances, add-ons and usage conditions are set out in the relevant offer. Course access does not include unlimited tutor use. Legacy access continues under the entitlement and purchase conditions recorded for it.

4. Orders and payments

Where purchasing is available, review the course, price, currency, applicable tax, billing period and amount due before confirming payment. Correct selection errors before completing checkout. Longer subscription periods are paid upfront; an equivalent monthly figure is a comparison, not a monthly instalment plan.

An order is accepted when payment is confirmed and we confirm the purchased access. If we cannot supply an accepted purchase, we will contact you and return any payment for the part we cannot provide. A failed or abandoned checkout does not itself provide paid access.

Stripe processes hosted payments. Keep the order confirmation and billing reference. If a charge or access result appears incorrect, contact us with your account email or reference, without sending full payment-card details.

5. Renewals and stopping renewal

Recurring subscriptions renew for the period selected at checkout unless renewal is stopped. A basket can collect one initial payment for several courses while creating separate subscriptions with their own later renewal dates and billing periods.

You can stop an individual course’s renewal using account billing controls, or contact support for help. Do so before its next renewal is collected. Cancelling one subscription does not cancel others. The account shows the status and paid-through date; access normally continues to that date when you stop a future renewal.

Stopping renewal is different from exercising a cooling-off right or requesting a refund for a service problem. It does not automatically refund an earlier payment or remove an amount already due. If payment fails, access can be restricted according to the account’s payment status; contact support if you think this is incorrect.

Price or material subscription changes will be communicated before they affect a future renewal, with an opportunity to stop renewal. They do not retrospectively change the price of a period already paid for.

6. Cancellation rights and refunds

If you purchase as a consumer online, you can normally cancel until the end of 14 days after the day you enter the contract, subject to the rules for the service or digital content supplied. To exercise a cancellation right, email services@code-ai.co.uk or write to our registered office before the deadline. Clearly state that you wish to cancel and identify the account and purchase. No particular form is required.

For a service started during that period at your express request, the law may permit a proportionate charge for the service supplied before cancellation, if the required information was provided. A service cancellation right is lost on full performance only where the required express request and acknowledgement have been obtained.

For digital content supplied immediately, the change-of-mind right is lost only where supply has begun after the legally required express consent and acknowledgement of losing that right, with the required confirmation. Agreeing to recurring charges, accepting these terms or simply signing in does not by itself waive cancellation rights.

Where a cancellation refund is due, we will make it within the legally required period, normally within 14 days after being informed of cancellation, using the original payment method unless otherwise agreed, without a refund fee. We do not offer additional goodwill refunds for a change of mind outside applicable cancellation rights.

Your rights where content is faulty, a service is not supplied with reasonable care and skill, or a purchase does not match its description are unaffected. Contact us so we can investigate and provide the remedy required, which may include correction, repeat performance, a price reduction or a refund.

Tell us whether you also want future renewals stopped. A payment refund alone does not necessarily end a recurring subscription. Where you exercise a valid right to cancel the contract, we will end the associated subscription and its future renewals.

Optional cancellation wording

You may send: “I wish to cancel my purchase of [course or service], ordered on [date]. My name is [name], my account email or order reference is [details], and my address is [address].” Add the date and, if sent on paper, your signature. You can use any other clear statement instead.

7. Learning materials and your work

We and our licensors retain rights in the platform, books, videos, questions, answer guides and other supplied materials. Your access permits use for your own learning, or authorised teaching within an agreed school licence. Do not resell access, publicly redistribute restricted materials or copy whole collections without permission or another lawful basis.

You retain the rights you hold in your original work. By submitting it, you permit us and the providers used for the feature to store, process and display it as needed for learning, feedback, saving and authorised collaboration. This does not transfer ownership of your work.

Do not submit material you lack permission to use, another person’s private information, unlawful or abusive content, or code intended to damage the service. Do not bypass access controls, interfere with other users or misuse teaching tools.

8. AI tutors and educational outcomes

Virtual tutors, automated marking and recommendations support learning and may make mistakes. Check important explanations, code and calculations, and ask a teacher when needed. Practice scores are not official examination results. We do not guarantee a particular grade, examination result or competition outcome.

Our exam-board mappings are independent and do not imply endorsement by an awarding body. Follow your school’s and examination board’s rules for assessed work and AI assistance. The privacy policy explains how tutor questions and learning context are processed.

9. Service changes, suspension and responsibility

We may maintain or update the platform to correct errors, improve teaching, protect security or meet legal requirements. Where practical, we will give notice of a material interruption or change. If we cannot continue a paid service substantially as agreed, we will explain your options and provide any remedy or refund due.

We may restrict or suspend access where reasonably necessary to address misuse, a security concern, an expired entitlement or an unresolved payment. Where appropriate, we will explain the reason and allow you to put matters right; urgent protection may require immediate action. Contact support to challenge an access decision.

We are responsible for loss or damage that is a foreseeable result of our breach of these terms or failure to use reasonable care and skill. We do not exclude responsibility for fraud, death or personal injury caused by negligence, or anything else that cannot lawfully be excluded. Educational and availability explanations above do not remove your statutory rights.

10. Complaints, law and changes to these terms

Send a complaint to services@code-ai.co.uk or our registered office, with the relevant account or purchase reference and the outcome you are seeking. We will investigate and respond. This does not prevent you from using other remedies available to you.

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. Consumers retain mandatory protections and the right to bring proceedings in the courts available under applicable law, including the courts of their home jurisdiction where that right applies.

We may update these terms for future use and purchases, showing the revision date above. Material changes affecting an existing subscription will be notified appropriately and will not remove rights already acquired or retrospectively alter an agreed purchase. Contact us if you need a copy relating to your purchase.
