GCSE Computer Science

Summer 2027

Grade 8+ Money-Back Guarantee

Your child completes the agreed GCSE Computer Science programme on time and sits the covered exam. If their official result is below Grade 8 and the claim requirements are met, you get your money back.

Refunds are reduced by actual non-refundable payment-provider processing fees. We add no administration charge. See how the refund is calculated.

How the guarantee works

  1. Agree your programme

Choose your exam board and review your fixed checklist, payment schedule and programme terms in Billing before you pay.

  2. Complete the programme

Your child completes the agreed lessons, questions and mocks by their deadlines, then sits the covered GCSE exam.

  3. Request your money back

If the official result is below Grade 8 and you meet the requirements, contact our team within 30 days of receiving the result.

Already subscribed? Your current paid period is covered too. Add the guarantee for £199 once. A qualifying claim covers the GCSE payment for the subscription period in progress when you join, even if you paid it earlier, plus later renewals paid through 19 May 2027, before the processing-fee deduction. This applies to monthly, three-month and yearly plans. Your subscription keeps its usual price and renewal date. See the refund examples below.

You can stop course renewal in Billing. Keep enough access to finish the agreed work; once it is complete, you do not need to keep paying until results day. Standard GCSE access remains available without the guarantee.

What your child needs to complete

Complete 100% of the required work in all three areas of your agreed checklist by 9 May 2027, 11:59pm UK time, before the first exam. You receive the exact checklist before paying. Earlier recorded work on those versions counts; we check that evidence when reviewing a claim. The checklist does not certify what you have already completed. We do not add new requirements after you join.

What the progress figures mean

Lesson progress covers lessons only. Overall study progress includes lessons, Mark Booster questions and Original Exam Mocks.

The guarantee checks submitted work and feedback review against your fixed checklist. General course progress can use pass marks and current course content, so it is not a refund eligibility score. No minimum practice score is required, and feedback suggestions do not add new requirements. Your child must also sit the covered exam and provide the official result for a claim.

What the guarantee covers

The course and exam
One learner taking OCR J277 or AQA 8525 (the specification first examined in 2027) in Summer 2027. Your agreement names the board and exam sitting.
Your money back
The £199 guarantee charge, the GCSE payment for the subscription period in progress when your guarantee payment succeeds, and later GCSE renewals paid through 19 May 2027, inclusive, less actual non-refundable payment-provider processing fees. The current period is covered even if you paid for it before the guarantee. The GCSE payment in the same checkout is included once. Before you pay, we show the estimated covered payments without fee deductions. A qualifying refund is based on amounts actually paid, less refunds already received and the attributable processing fees. We add no administration charge.
Two refund examples

Buy both together: pay £300 for yearly GCSE access and £199 for the guarantee in the same checkout. A qualifying claim covers £499 before the actual non-refundable processing-fee deduction.

Add the guarantee later: if you already paid £300 for a yearly subscription period that is still in progress when you add the £199 guarantee, a qualifying claim also covers £499 before processing-fee deductions. Separate payments may have different processing fees. Any later eligible renewals are covered too.

Other purchases
Payments for subscription periods that had already ended when you joined, and renewals paid after 19 May 2027, are not covered. Separate Python courses, UK Bebras, A level courses, books, tutor add-ons and school licences are also excluded.

How to request a refund

Contact our support team within 30 days of receiving the official result, even if you are still obtaining the result document. Provide your enrolment reference and the result showing your child's name, exam board, subject, exam series and grade. You can hide unrelated results.

We check the result, agreed work and covered payments, and explain our decision. Your refund statement shows the covered payments, any processing-fee deductions and the amount returned. Approved refunds go back to the original payment method; our team handles the refund.

We aim to decide within 14 days of receiving the evidence needed and issue an approved refund within 14 days of approval. Your consumer rights are unaffected.

Review your programme agreement

Sign in to the learner's account and open Billing. New subscribers can add the guarantee to their GCSE basket. Existing eligible GCSE subscribers pay just £199 once.

Choose your exam board, review the required-work checklist and accept the programme terms before payment. Your full agreement and accepted terms are then kept in My Grade 8+ Guarantee, where you can print or save a copy. Your confirmed status appears after payment is verified. You keep access to this record after your course subscription ends.

Join in good time to finish all required work by 9 May 2027, 11:59pm UK time. Standard course access does not enrol you in the guarantee. Contact our team before paying if you need an adjustment to the checklist or deadlines.

Questions about the programme

Can I add it to a monthly or three-month plan?

Yes. The guarantee costs £199 once with an individual monthly, three-month or yearly GCSE Computer Science subscription. Your course subscription continues on its usual schedule. The guarantee charge does not renew, and it covers the Summer 2027 exam sitting only.

Does my current GCSE subscription include the guarantee?

No. Open Billing to add the guarantee to your individual GCSE plan. Review your exam board, required-work checklist and terms before paying £199 once. If your claim qualifies, the payment for your current GCSE subscription period is covered, even if you paid it before joining, subject to the payment-provider processing-fee deduction. A school licence alone does not include the guarantee, and we never add the charge automatically.

Can I buy the guarantee separately and still qualify for a refund?

Yes. If you already have an eligible monthly, three-month or yearly GCSE subscription, add the £199 guarantee in Billing without buying course access again. Join in time to finish the required work by 9 May 2027 and meet the programme conditions. A qualifying claim covers the £199, the GCSE payment for the subscription period in progress when you join, and later renewals paid through 19 May 2027, inclusive. We deduct only actual non-refundable payment-provider processing fees, with no administration charge. The current period is covered even if you paid for it earlier. Periods that had already ended when you joined are excluded.

Will I receive exactly what I paid back?

A qualifying Grade 8+ claim refunds your covered payments less any actual payment-processing fees charged to us for those payments and not returned by the provider. This is our deduction policy, not an extra administration charge. There is no fixed percentage: fees depend on the payment method and actual provider charges. We show the covered payments, each fee deduction and the amount returned in your refund statement. The 14-day guarantee cancellation refund has no fee deduction, and your statutory rights are unaffected.

Does the programme include different learning content?

No. It uses the same GCSE Computer Science map and included support as standard access. The difference is the money-back promise if your child meets the programme requirements and their result in the covered exam is below Grade 8.

What if you add more questions after we enrol?

Your child's required-work checklist stays fixed for their enrolment. New optional lessons, questions or mocks will not add extra work they must complete for the guarantee.

Can I stop my GCSE subscription renewing?

Yes. You keep access until your paid period ends. Make sure you have enough access to finish the required work by the deadline. Once that work is complete, you do not need to keep paying until results day to retain the guarantee. Stopping renewal does not refund past subscription payments or cancel an already-paid guarantee.

Does completing the programme guarantee a Grade 8?

No. The exam board awards your child's grade. We promise money back if the official result is below Grade 8 and the programme requirements are met. Completing the work or getting a particular practice score does not establish an official GCSE grade.
