Grade 8+ Guarantee terms

Your individual programme agreement names the learner, exam board, required work and payment cover. Review it with these terms before paying. Your accepted copy stays in My Grade 8+ Guarantee, where you can print or save it.

1. The promise

Complete all the work in your agreed checklist by the deadline and sit your covered GCSE Computer Science papers. If your official result is below Grade 8, notify us of your claim within 30 days of receiving that result. A qualifying claim refunds your £199 guarantee charge plus eligible GCSE subscription payments, less actual non-refundable payment-provider processing fees as explained in section 5. We add no administration charge. If you are still obtaining the result document, notify us on time; we will give you a reasonable opportunity to supply it.

This is a money-back promise. Your exam board awards your grade; we do not promise that a particular grade will be awarded. There is no minimum mock grade or practice score needed for the guarantee.

AlgoPath Computer Science at csunderstood.co.uk is operated by Code&AI Limited, trading as AlgoPath Coding Academy. Code&AI Limited is registered in England and Wales, company number 14425345.

Registered office: Suite E Ground Floor, Profile West, 950 Great West Road, Brentford, United Kingdom, TW8 9ES.

For support, privacy requests, cancellations or complaints, email services@code-ai.co.uk or write to our registered office, addressed to AlgoPath support.

These programme terms supplement our terms of service. Your statutory consumer rights are unaffected. Version: grade-8-summer-2027-2026-10-22-v7.

2. Who and what is covered

The programme covers one named learner and one Summer 2027 GCSE Computer Science exam sitting: OCR J277 or AQA 8525 using the specification first examined in 2027. Your agreement names the learner, qualification and exam series. IGCSE, other boards and other exam years are not included in this offer.

You need an individual GCSE Computer Science subscription, paid monthly, every three months or yearly. A school licence alone does not include this paid guarantee. If you are under 18, a parent or guardian must arrange and accept the purchase.

The programme provides the same GCSE map and included support as standard access. It does not include private tuition, extra tutor allowances, school exam entry or exam-board fees. Your school or examination centre arranges your exam entry.

3. Price and enrolment

The guarantee costs £199 once, including applicable tax, in addition to your GCSE subscription. It does not renew. Your subscription keeps its normal price and renewal schedule; compare the payment options.

You can buy the guarantee with a new GCSE subscription or add it separately to an eligible existing subscription. Buying it separately does not prevent you qualifying for a refund. An existing subscriber pays £199 once without buying the same course access again. The payment dates determine which subscription payments can be refunded, as explained in section 5.

Open Billing in the learner's account. Choose your exam board and review your fixed required-work checklist, completion rules, deadline and payment summary before paying. Your programme starts at the time of your successful guarantee payment, once we have verified it. Earlier recorded work on the versions named in the checklist counts; we check that evidence when reviewing a claim.

The adult payer must accept the agreement before paying. Your accepted agreement and full terms stay in My Grade 8+ Guarantee, linked from My courses and Billing. You can print or save that copy, including after course access ends. We show your confirmed enrolment and reference once payment has been verified. A separate agreement is not automatically emailed to you. An email request, a standard course purchase or a payment redirect alone does not enrol you. Contact support before payment if you need adjustments to the standard agreement.

Your agreement, guarantee payment and required work must be completed by 9 May 2027, 11:59pm UK time. Join early enough to finish the programme. New online checkouts close one hour before that deadline so there is time to complete payment; the work deadline does not move.

4. Required work

You must complete 100% of the required work in each of the three areas below by 9 May 2027, 11:59pm UK time. Completing only the lessons, or only some topics, does not meet this requirement.

Your checklist names the exact lessons, questions and mocks for your board, including any full-paper mocks, timing and correction requirements, and agreed adjustments. We give you this fixed list, with the number of required items in each area, in a form you can keep before you pay.

Hard Concept lessons All required lessons
Work through every lesson named in your checklist, submit your own responses to its required activities and understanding checks, and review the feedback. Watching the video alone does not complete the work. You do not have to reach the lesson pass mark to meet this guarantee condition.
Mark Booster questions Every required question
Submit your own answer to every question named in your checklist and review its feedback. Complete any corrections explicitly required by your agreement.
Original Exam Mocks Every required mock
Submit your own answer to every required question in each named topic or full-paper mock and review the feedback. Follow the timing and correction requirements listed in your checklist.

100% means completing the work, not scoring 100%. There is no minimum practice score, lesson pass mark or mock grade for a refund. Teacher and tutor help is allowed. Feedback suggestions do not add guarantee requirements; only corrections expressly listed in your agreement are required.

We do not add required work, introduce a new score threshold or shorten your agreed deadline after enrolment. New optional material does not enlarge your checklist. The saved references and versions identify your agreed work. Earlier recorded work on those versions counts. The checklist itself does not certify which work you have already completed. Any agreed adjustments are confirmed in writing and kept with your agreement; they do not remove your existing rights.

The general course progress percentage and lesson pass badges are not refund eligibility scores. Our team reviews your fixed checklist and dated evidence of submitted work and feedback review, including work completed before joining. Keep your agreement and any supporting records. Contact us promptly if a record is missing or an agreed version is no longer accessible, so we can provide it or agree an appropriate alternative.

5. Subscriptions and covered payments

A qualifying claim covers the £199 guarantee charge, the GCSE subscription payment for the paid period in progress when your guarantee payment succeeds, and later GCSE renewals paid through 19 May 2027, inclusive, using UK dates. This applies equally to monthly, three-month and yearly subscriptions. The current paid period is included even if its payment was made before buying the guarantee. The whole eligible payment is included in the covered amount before the fee deduction below; it is not reduced to only the unused part of that period. A GCSE payment in the same checkout is included once.

Payment-provider fees: we deduct only actual payment-processing fees charged to us for the covered payments being refunded and not returned by the provider. This means you may receive less than you paid. We add no administration charge or markup. This is our deduction policy, not a charge the provider requires you to pay for receiving a refund.

There is no fixed deduction percentage. We use the provider's transaction records, because fees depend on the payment method and actual charges. Your refund equals the remaining covered payments, after previous refunds, minus their attributable non-refundable processing fees. For a payment that includes unrelated purchases, we allocate its processing fee in proportion to the covered amount being refunded divided by the total original payment. We do not deduct fees for unrelated purchases, fees returned by the provider, subscription-management charges or other business costs, or fees already recovered from an earlier refund. If we cannot verify a fee, we do not deduct it. We give you a statement showing each covered payment, previous refunds, processing-fee deductions and the amount returned.

Before payment, we show an estimate of covered payments before processing-fee deductions, based on your recorded subscription price, current paid period and renewal schedule. It is not the final amount you will receive. For a new subscription, dates assume you pay on the day shown and move if you pay later. If your subscription renews before your guarantee payment succeeds, the period in progress at that successful payment is the one covered. Missing or changed payment details need confirmation; they do not mean the current period is excluded. Our team checks the actual subscription periods, payments and processing fees when reviewing a claim. Only amounts actually paid are covered, including applicable tax, less refunds already received for the same payments.

Buying both together: if you pay £300 for yearly GCSE access and £199 for the guarantee in the same checkout, a qualifying claim covers £499 before the actual non-refundable processing-fee deduction.

Adding the guarantee later: if you already paid £300 for a yearly subscription period that is still in progress when you pay for the £199 guarantee, a qualifying claim also covers £499 before processing-fee deductions. Separate payments may have different processing fees. The same rule covers the payment for a current monthly or three-month period. Later GCSE renewals paid through 19 May 2027 are also covered.

The processing-fee deduction applies only to exam-result claims under this version of the Grade 8+ guarantee. It does not apply to the 14-day guarantee cancellation refund in section 8 or reduce any statutory refund rights. Previously accepted agreements keep their saved terms; we do not add this deduction retrospectively.

Payments for subscription periods that had already ended when you joined, renewals paid after 19 May 2027, unrelated courses, books, tutor add-ons, exam fees and school licences are excluded. A mixed purchase only contributes its identified GCSE subscription amount. Payments for another learner cannot be included, and each payment is counted only once.

You can stop subscription renewal in Billing and keep access until the paid-through date. You need enough access to finish the required work. Once it is completed, you do not need to keep paying until results day. Stopping course renewal does not cancel an already-paid guarantee; failing to complete the work still affects eligibility.

6. Exam results and claims

Sit the covered papers and send your claim within 30 days of receiving the official result. A result below Grade 8, including an ungraded result after sitting the papers, can qualify. A practice result, predicted grade or absence without an awarded result is not an official qualifying result.

Email services@code-ai.co.uk with your enrolment reference and official results evidence from your school, examination centre or awarding body. It must identify the learner, qualification, exam board, exam series and grade. You can hide unrelated subjects and personal details; do not send payment-card details.

Tell us within the claim window even if you are still obtaining the result document. We will identify any missing evidence and give you a reasonable opportunity to supply it. If you request a review of marking, notify us within the same window; you do not have to buy a review of marking to claim.

We check the agreed work, deadline, exam result and covered payments. We aim to explain our decision within 14 days of receiving the evidence needed. If more time is required, we tell you why and when to expect a decision. An AI mark or predicted grade is not grounds to reject an otherwise valid claim.

Our team issues an approved refund to the original payment method within 14 days of approval. Your bank may take additional time to display it. Previous refunds are accounted for so the same payment is not refunded twice. We confirm the covered amount, any processing-fee deduction, the amount returned and the refund reference.

If you disagree with a decision, reply to ask for a review and explain the issue. We will review the agreement and evidence and provide a written response. This does not restrict your other legal remedies.

7. Adjustments, access problems and exam changes

Contact us about accessibility needs before joining so we can record appropriate adjustments in your agreement. Tell us promptly about a platform problem or missing record. We will not reject a claim solely because our outage or recording error prevented completion from being recorded; we will agree a suitable alternative or adjustment and keep a written record.

If your exam board changes a covered paper date, we will confirm any necessary deadline and payment-coverage adjustment in writing without shortening the preparation time already agreed. Your examination centre's instructions take priority for where and when to sit the papers.

If illness, an exam-entry change or another serious circumstance prevents you sitting the covered papers, contact us. A missed exam does not itself trigger the Grade 8 refund. We will explain your options and applicable consumer rights before agreeing any change; a transfer to another exam year is not automatic.

8. Cancellation and keeping your agreement

You may cancel the guarantee until the end of the 14th day after your successful guarantee payment and receive the full £199 guarantee charge back, with no processing-fee or administration deduction. Cover starts on payment without reducing this cancellation right. Tell us by email or post before that period ends; you do not have to give a reason. We issue the refund within 14 days of receiving your cancellation, using the original payment method. Cancelling the guarantee ends its exam-result cover; it does not automatically cancel a separate course subscription or refund its payments.

You may use this cancellation wording, but you do not have to: To Code&AI Limited, Suite E Ground Floor, Profile West, 950 Great West Road, Brentford, TW8 9ES; services@code-ai.co.uk. I give notice that I cancel my Grade 8+ Guarantee contract. Learner account and enrolment reference: ____. Date purchased: ____. Payer name and address: ____. Date: ____. Signature, only if sent on paper: ____.

Course-subscription cancellation and service problems are handled under the terms of service. After the guarantee cancellation period, a change of mind alone does not entitle you to a guarantee-charge refund. Your rights for a service problem or a qualifying exam-result claim remain unaffected.

Keep this version of the terms and your individual agreement. Later changes to the public offer do not change an accepted agreement. We retain the enrolment, completion and payment evidence needed to administer it in accordance with our privacy policy.
