0:00 Start with one topic
You have opened the GCSE Map. Where should you start, and what counts as finished? Follow one topic from its first activity to its final checks. First, choose a landmark.
0:13 Landmark → topic → preparation route
CPU Citadel contains several topics. Open The Fetch Cycle. Inside, you have three routes: Hard Concept, Mark Booster, and Original Exam Mock. We will use them in that order.
0:28 Hard Concept has its own sub-map
Hard Concept has a smaller topic trail inside it. Follow every required activity on this sub-map. The optional video helps explain the idea; the visual activity and knowledge check provide the completion evidence.
0:45 Complete each stage of the visual activity
Open the visual activity and work through its stages. Choose the answers, check your work, and use the feedback to repair mistakes. Continue until the activity confirms completion, then return to the topic trail.
1:01 Answer every question, then check it
Next, open the five-question check. Here, fetch means obtaining the next instruction from memory. Select the answer and press Check my answer. Read the feedback before continuing.
1:15 A checkpoint needs all questions checked
Use the question route to visit every question. This checkpoint requires all five answers to be checked and at least four correct. Complete the remaining questions, revisit any mistakes, and check the saved result.
1:31 Leave the checkpoint, then open Mark Booster
Once every answer is checked, use the return link below the final question. Back on the topic trail, review your completed checkpoint. Scroll to the three preparation routes and select Mark Booster to practise real exam questions.
1:49 Selected using official examiner reports
These past-paper questions are carefully selected using official examiner reports. The suggested priorities focus on common, recurring mark-losing mistakes in this topic and exam board. Start with Priority One. Open the question and write your own answer.
2:08 Let your Virtual Tutor check your answer
Select Check my answer. The Virtual Tutor automatically compares your own answer with the question’s mark scheme. Read the estimated mark, the feedback and the next step. Use that feedback to improve your answer. You can also check manually with the marking guide.
2:28 Past-paper checks complete → open the mock
Check every required past-paper response and wait for the saved count. Then scroll back to the preparation routes. Select Original Exam Mock. This opens the mock’s own sub-map, where you apply the same knowledge to fresh questions.
2:45 The mock has another sub-map
Now test the same knowledge with fresh questions in Original Exam Mock. Notice another sub-map: Gate One covers questions one to six, and Gate Two covers seven to twelve. Both gates belong to this topic.
3:01 Finish both gates before submitting
Answer every part and use Next question to continue. Flag anything you want to revisit. Finish both gates, return to flagged answers, then submit the complete trial when every question is answered.
3:17 Use auto-marking after submitting the trial
After submitting the trial, choose Check this response under your answer. Auto-marking is available here too. Your Virtual Tutor checks your response against the marking criteria and explains the estimated mark. Repeat for the remaining responses. Manual checking is also available. Check that your results are saved.
3:41 All required routes complete → topic secured
Return to the topic trail and check that every required activity and preparation route is complete. That completes this topic. The summit marks the achievement. Back on the GCSE Map, choose your next topic; a landmark can contain several topics.
